Hello to all the member

and yes after last year I have been asked to do it again Rolling Eyes

A social meeting on Saturday 31st January 2009 at the Crown on the A38 at Wychbold. The date has been chosen so that members that don't live in the Midlands can meet up and then go to Stoneleigh on Sunday 1st February 2009.

This sounds like a good idea-especially with stoneleigh the next day. It looks promising to me. Will be an afternoon or evening thing?

Weather permitting, im planning on coming to this as it will be good to catch up. Seeing as im coming a fair distance, what time does it kick off and is it a drink or meal type social?

This is sounding better and better -im up for a social meal providing its not going to break the bank!...it will make it more of an occasion and worth travelling for!

The menu looks reasonably priced.

p.s Also if it helps the Nearest Rail stations: Droitwich Spa (2.8 miles), Bromsgrove (3.6 miles).

You should be ok i think they still do 2 for 1 on the meals so if you pair up it should only cost about £5 each unless you go mad & have the mixed grill then it will be £9 each

The social meet which John has set up for us will take place on Saturday the 31st January 2009. From 2pm to 7pm (14:00 - 19:00). Venue is The Crown at Wychbold, Worcestershire (God's own country - wipes tear from eye)

We'll have some food, it's a good menu, & a full on session of talking rubbish Laughing

This will give everyone the chance to toddle off to bed later without getting overly hammered (up to you of course) and get up bright and early for the Militaria gorge that is Stoneleigh! Mmmm, I for one cannot wait to be confronted by all that useless overpriced tat!

Could everyone who is going please let John know ASAP so he'll be able book the table and trough in plenty of time.

Can anyone tell me if they are staying at the Crown on the Saturday night and if so do we book direct with the Crown?
Also, at what time are you planning to have the food?
It will be nice to sleep in a bed in a heated room rather than a tent!!!!

Hi,
I have now booked a room for me and Kristian at the Crown for the Saturday night at £49.95 which includes breakfast for us both. Better value than the Travel Lodge which is about a mile down the road and you get breakfast at the Macdonalds!! They still have rooms available if anyone else is interested and the rate is for a twin room so if you pair up it gets even better value. (and more fun!!)
