Another enjoyable event with the group. Firstly my thanks to Les for all the efforts he must of put in before and during the event. Also thanks to Matt and the pyro team too. Thanks to Kes for doing my sewing and being my dance partner along with charlotte. As always the members of the group made the event so enjoyable as its good to spend the weekend with like-minded people. The invite to Das Reichs evening version of the soldatenheim was a nice touch too.
Apart from the above, the highlights of the weekend for me was the opportunity to eat a 'austrian/german' type lunch on the crowd line, working on Andys skis and the evenings 85th Gebirgsjäger evening trip and photograph session (im certainly looking forward to seeing the photographs from that)
Photograph wise-id be happy to pass Paul (Kris's keeper) some money/contribution to charity for a copy of all the photographs from this and other events on CD/DVD....what do other members think?
Im looking forward to seeing members at the next event.
p.s
THe people who accidentally left their cheese/meat and oether foodstuffs in my cool box i will keep it for them until next event or if the dates are tight, i will consume them and replace them with a like for like at the next event.

Theres a good picture of Kris and his Dad in there..but there is a absolutely superb picture of Andy crouching by a wall on the last page of photos
Is it time we considered having a gallery area for our ever growing number of event photographs? Or would it eat up too much space/bandwith etc?

Fabulous piccy of Paul (propagandakompanie).
I think the 85th are getting a realy good and broad display, what with the rabios, enegma, propagandackompanie, skis, MG pits it all helps to make us just the little bit different from other axis groups.
Well done, keep it up, Gebirgs looking good!

Ahh great to see some more pics! they are looking good-is there more as id love to see more of the evening photographs as the settings and setups looked great..i am curious how they looked in Paul and Les's brothers photographs (this portfollio sounds interesting Les!)
Theres also a video(in 3 parts) on youtube of the battle (i think its monday) unfortunately it focusses largely on the Allied action and the sound is terrible.

200+ wow! I guess all that snapping soon mounts up! I really appreciate the work your dad does -its a service to the group and its great to see how we all look after all the effort we put into getting the impression right.
Idea/suggestion!!.....
If you/your dad wants to burn the huge number of images from Gunpowder mills and the other events so far/to date onto a DVD/CD ROM il happily pay the costs involved plus something for the effort -or maybe he (paul) would rather a contribution could be made to charity of his choice (help for heroes etc).....id guess that the other members would be happy to do the same thing and it would save you the hassle of loading up the pics to this site...anyway just an idea.

Tried a few things out. First one I tried got get Like an original color photo that had been scanned into a computer. Second is just standard B/W with some noise and blurring.

Ditto, that was my first choice for playing with too...i liked the look on everyones faces and the atmosphere.
We really must plan do much more of this 'setting up a scenario' thing where we can take advantage of buildings/vehicles and surroundings to showcase our overall unit look and our individual loadouts -especially if we can create a collection some 1940s look photographs of individuals and the group as a whole. After all we all do invest so much interest, time and money in getting the look right!

Heres the MG team trimmed and coloured to look 1940s style...
