If  anyone is interested in joining our group please contact me (Andy) or Matt. We are an easy going group but you do have to put some time and money into this hobby. We can lend you items for the first couple of show so you can see if you like the hobby, but please ask when buying stuff as some items would not look on the display. No one wants to waste money.

Do you gus use mutch spoken german when doing combat displays? I heard that some groups use alot of german were as others just use commands (covering fire etc).

We use some for drill but thats about it. On railway shows those who can speak German can speak it, the public do like it.

Hello all, I'm Jacko and I met up with some of the Gebirgs at the Maiden Newton event and discussed the possibly of getting involved in the group. Ive also made contact with the group via emailng Matt. I have been a collector for years and was pleased to discover there was a Gebirgsjäger group (particularly 5th Division) in the UK as I already have a good quantity of the kit (inc Gebirgsjäger specific items) that I have collected in the past through other interests.

Anyway, with War & Peace coming up pretty soon, I would like to visit the display again and meet with some of the members again and if that would be ok

All the new guys at beltring look good in there new uniforms, all you need to do now is wear them and get them used and DIRTY Laughing . Try not to buy everthing you see but try to focus on something ie johnboy and his MG set up, Les with the radios , Wooly brothers with drinking coffe all day. This way it works out cheaper for you.

My names Rick and i would like to be considered as a potential member for your Gerbirgsjager reenactment group.
I have full, correct, uniform and equipment plus a number of deactivated weapons as i am not a FAC holder.
I am a long standing friend of Jacko (but please dont hold that against me) and have read the forum here for a few months so i see where the group is coming from.

Actually i should have put "long suffering friend" of Jacko.
Only joking, hes a top bloke and we've shared an interest in military history for years.
You guys have a very friendly group that takes its living history seriously without being pretentious. I'd love to be a part of it.

One thing, do we all have to wear German womens auxiliary underpants like Jacko ?
He swears we do but i have the suspicion that's just his personal choice.

I'd just like to remind all new members (and everyone else) to check the kit list on the thread "Accepted Equipment List" and please take note of it.

Let's all get a 'standard' set of uniform, after all we are portraying a military unit.  Emphasis on the word unit.

There will be inspections at first parade and you will be expected to be in the uniform of the day.  You will be notified before parade.  Friendly advice will be given as to what is right and correct.  New members will of course be given leeway until they can get on their feet.

The days of 'that will do' have long gone my friends......
