According the the VCR bill "A person is guilty of an offence if he brings a realistic imitation firearm into Great Britain or causes one to be brought into Great Britain".

This is whot they say under shipping:
Collector's Armoury Shipping Policy
Updated March, 2008
Collector’s Armoury will maintain worldwide shipping capability to serve our customers in the most efficient manner possible.
Some states impose legal restrictions regarding commerce in or ownership of replica guns. The following shipping restrictions represent company policy and should not be considered legal advice to customers. Specific information regarding shipping restrictions is available on most official state websites or directly through offices of state secretaries or state legislatures.
Imitation Firearms
CALIFORNIA and KANSAS: Dealers warrant that shipments are made in compliance with state law.
Imitation Firearms, regardless of date, may only be shipped:
In conjunction with a frame or presentation box; or
Solely for export in interstate or foreign commerce; or
Solely for lawful use in theatrical productions; or
For use in certified sporting events or competitions; or
For use in military or civil defense or ceremonial activities; or
For public display authorized by public or private school
CONNECTICUT, MASSACHUSETTS, WISCONSIN and MINNESOTA: All replicas of antique firearms (pre-1898) are allowed. We will not ship replicas of modern firearms (post-1898) to these states.
NEW YORK STATE AND PUERTO RICO: Replicas of antique firearms (pre-1898) are allowed. We will only ship replicas of modern firearms (post-1898) to theatrical, military, police or other government accounts with valid proof of account identity. A copy of a valid purchase order will suffice.
CANADA: Replicas of flintlock, percussion, and cap and ball weapons are the only imitation firearms that can be shipped to Canada.
Black Powder Firearms:
Black Powder firearms can only be shipped to U.S. addresses
Generally, Black Powder guns can be shipped to wholesale customers throughout the United States. Some states and local jurisdictions impose restrictions on some types of black powder firearms for retail purchase. Drop shippers and retail customers must warrant that the purchase of these items is in compliance with any local restrictions at the point of destination. Please check your local statues prior to purchasing.
DROP SHIPMENTS:
a. Drop Ship customers that request shipments to states that have legal restrictions that apply to the requested products must warrant that the products will be sold in accordance with state law.
b. Domestic Drop Shipment will be made within the Continental United States and to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
c. International Drop Shipments: The customer assumes full responsibility and financial liability for orders shipped outside the United States. The customer is responsible for complying with United States and foreign customs regulations and supplying Collector's Armoury with all relevant paperwork that must accompany the foreign shipment. The customer is financially and legally responsible for goods seized and destroyed or returned by U.S. or foreign authorities.
d. We will only Drop Ship orders that total at least $20.00 (Dealer Cost) not including Drop Ship and freight charges.
e. We only effect "blind" Drop Ship orders. This means that the outside of each shipped package will display a UPS tracking label that will identify the customer as the Shipper with the customers business name, address and telephone number.
f. Drop Ship orders are generally processed and shipped within three (3) business days of receipt of the order. Invoices are generally mailed to the customer within two (2) days of shipment. There may be occasions where circumstances will cause delays of shipment and mailing of invoices beyond the times described. Collector's Armoury will provide email confirmation for each tracking number shipped. This email will be sent at the time the order is shipped. Please call us once a week to check on any drop ship backorders.
g. Drop ship and freight charges are as follows:
1) $5.00 per Drop Shipment plus the actual freight charges will be added to the invoice.
2) Shipments will be made by UPS or USPS. Federal Express is available for express shipments only.
3) Orders shipped to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico may include additional charges.
In the event the recipient returns the product directly to Collector's Armoury, the customer may be credited for the product returned (but not the freight and drop ship charges) and only if the product returned meets the return requirements outlined in the Terms of Sale.
Products returned not in compliance with the Terms of Sale will be destroyed. If the customer desires to salvage these products, Collector's Armoury will ship them in accordance with the customers instructions at the customers expense.
Orders returned to Collector's Armoury by the carrier (i.e., Federal Express, UPS or Post Office) because of "failed delivery" or "non-delivery" will be handled as follows:
a. If non-delivery results from an error made by Collector's Armoury, we will immediately re-ship to the correct address at no cost to the customer. b. Orders returned as a result of an error made by the customer will be re-shipped at customers expense. In this case the customer pays both the initial and re-ship freight charges.
Since many of our products are imported, we cannot guarantee that all items will be in stock at all times. In the event we back-order an item(s), we will advise the customer by email or phone at time of shipment.
International orders will ship with a freight company of customer choice.

To be honest mate I dont think you would have mutch of a defence if the weapon was seized. I dont think being a reenactor alone is enough to import RIF's into the country.

Hi Kris, if i were you id get a deact pistol, less agro in the long run, getting licences these days is a pain up the arse, ive tried myself. Ryton arms do some good Walther's (deact), P38'S and the PPK variety. If its just for show or holster filler i wouldn't bother with live or blank firers personally. As for rifles even if its a blank firer you still i think need a shotgun licence (ask Ropes he knows more about this than myself as this is his area because i think his Dad works for a gun company). Anyway good luck and see you at the next show, regards Peiper

This is the e-mail I have got from them:
Hi Kristian –
All the replicas of firearms produced after 1873 will be a problem. Please check with your local customs office, you might be able to obtain an import permit.
Kind regards

it means basically no body robs banks with a .44 cap and ball colt.1873 was the year mass produced metallic cartridges where on general sale,.45 colt peacemaker etc,so classed as a modern firearm, using modern ammo, rendering cap and ball loading obselete.45 colt sixguns are very popular in the US today .Besides you could look in gunmart and get a P38 bf,if you really have to have one

Kris, firstly re-read the post in the general section about 'blank firers and membership a moral dilemma'..as it covers some the issues raised.
Sorry if this sounds a little heavy, but there is little point reading/quoting the shipping details for US states and othe countries as you are looking to bring it into the UK that has its own restrictions and the law has changed quite dramtically over the last year on this issue. Apart from the points raised about the quality and usefuness of these weapons, you are on sticky ground with attempting to buy/import from overseas this weapon, as:
-the VCR bill prohibits the import of RIFs (replica imitation firearms) into the UK (as Ropes has pointed out) i.e this is illegal unless you can claim an exemption as if its under the re-enacting exemption I doubt you been doing it long enough.
-if the VCR issue above it is not enough to put you off, it is illegal to buy RIFs if you are under 18 even within the UK. And no you cannot say it is for your Dad (see section 40 of VCR info)
-Some UK parcel services will refuse to transport such an item if the contents are known and if the parcel is intercepted or 'accidentally opened' by the trusted members of the parcel carriers firms, you will recieve a visit from PC Plod -the RIF may well be destroyed without compensation (as you broke the law) so you loose your $100 or so.
-Similarly, HM customs regularly monitor imports from overseas RIF dealers and regularly seize such items. Again you will recieve a visit from PC Plod.
-Bear in mind that such an offence may then later jepodise any applications you make for FACs etc. And could reflect badly on the good standing that the group and other re-enactors have
For detailed easy to understand info on the VCR bill and RIFs read:
http://www.basc.org.uk/media/basc_vcr_guide_october_2007.pdf
There is also alot of information on the Airsoft Community Forums (ASCUK) about the VCR and RIFs (although its to do with Airsoft its the same issues with RIFs under the VCR).
You be better off keeping hold of your $100 or so and spending it on ww2 Gebirgsjäger kit and equipment ready for next season. Lots of suppliers both in the UK and overseas and little or not shipping/legal restrictions!

THE VCR BILL IS ...........
See section 36?
but you would sill find it hard to get one!!!!!

The post office will charge you inport tax on this item because its fromthe states. If you look around at battles not many people use pistols and a lot of battle organisers will not let them on the battle field.
