Eden Camp 07

Nick the manager of eden camp was very pleased with us again Laughing this year. I was thinking for next year if out side the front doors of our hut we could display some items. Maybe AA mg34, rabbits ears, skis crampons, and the like.

Sounds like I missed a good 'un! Eden camp is always good. Nice and easy, cushy billet. It just falls at a shyte time for me.

I was knee deep in 'doing things around the house' but I got to go beach casting in Barmouth on Saturday with the lad..... Bonus!

Really looking forward to seeing you all at Waltam Abbey, I'm not doing Churnet Valley as I'm doing the pyro at Thetford private battle instead. You never know I might even get payed for that one Rolling Eyes Sore point, I normally only do stuff for free for the group of course but I think I got shafted doing the 'Build-up' event 30th July - 1st June for 'charity'.

Chatting to Andy it became apparent I'm only going to be with the group is if I'm blowing you boys up in some way or other!

The pyro side has gone a bit mad this year. I'm much in demand, nice to be wanted Very Happy I'm goin gto be a bit more selective next year (famour last words).
barry

What if that idea was put to the society and rejected does that mean that you wont be doing the pyro for any of the group event's, please help little confused. many thanks bart.
admin

Ayeee? Now you've confused me Bart. Sorry if I've not come across clearly. I'll try and expalin.

The pyro I do for the group is done at cost, always has been, always will be, no worries there. I do now add a little for the insureance to each event and I do mean a little. We are NOT covered for pyro on our group insureance, no really! I have my own which has to be payed out of my own pocket.

Other groups/events I do I charge the going rate apart from the 'Build-up' which I'm told is a charity event, so again at cost.

So, Waltham Abbey for Les is at cost, also Nene Valley etc.

BJ does charge for the food we have, at cost I believe.

Does that make sense mate?

Hi Bart
OHHHH its all true yes i do charge for the food as all the catering costs come out of my own pocket.....i try to keep the costs down for everyone so we can all get fed without being ripped off at shows....for breakfast you get 2 yes 2 sandwiches for only £1 & on the evening a good sized meal for around £1.50 depending on what is on the menu.....as it stands i think it is very good value ( & if anyone dissagrees please let me know ) i purchased all the equiptment & don't mind catering for the section one bit it means we all get fed at the same time & a hot meal too at a reasonable cost.......all i ask is the lads bring their own brew kit as i don't do the drinks side of it but the cooker & gas is there for them to use...i hope this makes it a little clearer.

cheers bj got him hee hee its curry time
admin

Bj you do a sterling job there and I'm sure we all appretiate the work you do.

The catering at stands at shows for the public is quite shocking to be honest. It was nice to see at Detling a 'reenactors' van in the plastic camp serving at realistic prices but not a scratch on the value from Uncle Heimie BJ Laughing
