The 504th P.I.R. 82nd A/B not only jumped on sisily serlerno but were also part of the anzo beachhead where they urned the nickname (devils in baggy pants ) they lost so many men that they could not replace and train them in time for D. day so they missed that jump. |

The Devils Brigade:
http://www.wwii.ca/page77.html
and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil's_Brigade
Brigade members received rigorous and intensive training in stealth tactics; hand-to-hand combat; the use of explosives for demolition; parachuting; amphibious warfare; rock-climbing; mountain warfare, and as ski troops.Amongst other operations, they were involved in Italy including Anzio. Worth noting that the Devils Brigade lead to the creation of the U.S and Canadian Special Forces units including the Green Berets (with a very similar unit badge by the way) and the current DELTA and JTF units.
