Well i thought id start off the feedback on this event.

Many highlights to this event, i enjoyed catching up with all in the group who went to the show and it was good to meet Micks son Chris, new member Seb and put a face to Jagdpanther from the forum who is looking to take an active role in the group. It was also good to see Leanne settle in and enjoy being in the group too. Thanks to all for the good nature, good humour and great company over the few days of the show that made it so good to be there.

The 1940s Red Ball show was a highlight for me as it realy captured a 1940s atomsphere for a while and everyone else seemed to feel the same way (despite the awful singing) until for some reason the singer returned on stage after the ropey burlesque dancers in 1980s style gear and did modern numbers (still awfully) and managed to clear a big chunk of the crowd as the 1940s magic was killed instantly.

I enjoyed being on the display and although its nice to go for a shop, i much more preferred spending the majority of my time on the display 'living the role' and the same goes for taking part in the battles -i think its easy to forget how lucky we are to be 'going into battle' alongside tiger tanks and other german ww2 vehicles etc (whether or not they are repro ones or not) and be able to immerse ourselves into the role...it was great.

Display wise, we looked good i thought, although i guess it might be time to think/discuss about any changes/improvements to the display, but i fully appreciate the problems with the logistics in getting anything physical created and removed to a display.

Im looking forward to Detling, as in some ways i prefer Detling to W&P as i find W&P a bit too big at times and there are too many interests to cater for -usually re-enactors versus (MVT) vehicle owners leading to some un-nesscessary provocation between each party. I felt there was no need to have the entire display area roads open to display vehicles all day long -esp as this either creates lots of dust or churns up a quagmire. It would have been better to close off the road around the main living history area to all but essential traffic that are travelling to display paddock only. As for the marshalling it did leave a little to be desired as some seemed to be there for the priviliges it gives and not to help. There also seemed to be some confusion between marshals, cadet helpers and other non red shirted marshals. As for the security firm.......

i was verry impressed with the fun we all had at the displays
this was in fact probably the best entertaining event we had
we got some real characters in the group now Wink

good to meet the new members and welcome them into the fold.
didnt buy much.
but had a great time .
being a major part of two battles per day was good too.
especially as we where in front of the public and had a good laugh too.
the messages where near the mark Wink
