As there are afew people in the group that are starting to collect yank kit maybe we could portray the 2nd infantry .
We already have BJ and Aid badged up as them'Me and Liam are badged up as them now aswell.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2nd_Infantry_Division_(United_States)
I know Andy is collecting and Kris is keen .
Jacko is nealey kitted out as 1st fssf ( they fought in Italy not far from Monty Cassino ).
Once you have the basics you can rebadge and portray most units inclueding 101st ( glider riders ).
just a thought
See ya all soon Barry

interesting that there is an interest in this....as barry says, except the boots, i have now got a complete basic (wont go into the entire kit list here) US ww2 1st SSF/ Rangers loadout (with .45 and thompson) - I have different garrison hats to reflect the unit. Boots wise, im planning on getting concorans as they are most appropriate. Ive deliberately not badged up so it remains neutral and often photos show no badges on combat gear of thaose units anyway. So 2nd infantry wise, or any other mainline U.S unit, i guess the gear would blend in and il wear leggings over the concorans so they look like service boots....i f this is ok as the quality of alot of repro roughout boots can be is shocking these days _________________ Hurra die Gams!.....und der disco!!

What is nice about 2nd inf is that they are just a bog standard unit they landed on omaha D-Day +1 were in the battle of the Bulge & ended up in the town of pilsner at the end of the war. All you drinking fans _________________ What do you mean you don't like veg!!! |

We spent some time talking about doing yank.
I asked that someone should be group leader and put forward Barrys name, this is because he is more up to date with the American reenacting at the moment.
Paul put forward BJs name as athentisity officer.
Please post your comments.
Wecould do with a name.
